Description »
Three spacious log cabins for couples, families or groups of friends
A log cabin in Sweden is an ideal escape from the stresses of modern life - a place to unwind and give some time to the truly important things in life.
The three traditionally-constructed log cabins are attractively situated just 75m from the lakeside near a small hamlet in the west of Värmland, with hiking, canoeing, cycling and fishing (see additional information under "fishing" below) all available from your doorstep.
Whether you're keen on fishing or just enjoy spending time on the water, the included boat is a great way to explore. Photo: John Hartshorn.
The traditionally constructed log cabins, which accommodate max. total 4 adults (or a family of 5 with children) in 2 x 2-person rooms + 1 x sleeping loft, are fully-equipped and tastefully furnished and have a wood-burning stove.
Each cabin has a large veranda with table and chairs, perfect for cooking out of doors or just sitting and enjoying the view over the lake. Each log cabin also includes its own boat (or canoe if preferred), which can be used to explore three local lakes.

Go boating, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, swimming or wildlife watching then relax in the sauna!
The log cabins are beautifully situated between the lakes of Mången and Treen. From here the famous Finnskogen, a vast area of forest, lakes and hills, full of wildlife such as elk and beaver, stretches northwards.
Couples seeking a romantic getaway will find endless miles of forest tracks to explore in privacy and seclusion. Why not take the boat included with the log cabin and strike out for your own private landing spot across one of the lakes?

For outdoor and nature enthusiasts, the area's vast forests, myriad lakes and rolling hills are rich in wildlife, including elk and beaver, and if the season is right the woods will be bursting with berries and mushrooms just waiting to be picked.
For families, the area provides a wealth of possibilities, with canoes and mountain bikes available for hire to help you explore. And after a hard day of activity, you can relax with a sauna! There are shared sauna facilites available for your use in a nearby building.
With a log cabin as your base, the forests, hills and lakes of Värmland are just waiting to be explored!
Fishing
Located within a fishing reserve, Log Cabin Escape in Värmland is a marvellous base for fishing for pike, perch and pike-perch depending on the time of year. Fishing licences are available to purchase locally. Fishing equipment hire can be arranged locally.
Guests wishing to fish with spinning rods should have a previous working knowledge of fishing. Novice fishers are welcome to fish using basic rod and maggots and basic guidance can be provided on arrival.
Use of rowing boat
The boat included as standard is provided without motor. A motor for use with the boat is available to hire locally if required.
Please note the option to use motor is available only to guests with previous experience of and competence in driving a boat with engine.

"We had a great time in Sweden and feel quite sad that our adventure is over! we loved both parts of our holiday. The canoe trip was truly a memorable few days and the log cabin was amazing - really nothing to improve on at all as it was clean and well-appointed, and Björn was really helpful and welcoming. It was a wonderful adventure for us and our children and we look forward to going back someday." Kate, who combined a stay at the cabins with our Canoe Tours on Klarälven experience.
"The gorgeous scenery and the canoe were great. The product fitted what we wanted." Ellie
"The fishing was superb. Our host was superb, nothing was to much trouble, checked almost everyday to see if we needed anything, the cabin has everything you need, and very clean when we arrived." Richard

"Excellent location - host very friendly and hospitable. Cabin great." Allan
"It was great to be able to just talk to you guys. Was always easy to get in touch and my questions were all answered promptly. The quietness on the lake was amazing. The scenery was stunning. The lack of people was the best. So different to what I am used to. Our contact on site was most helpful and easy to chat with. The fishing guide Eric was also very friendly and would come and chat if he saw we had caught anything. We really enjoyed our stay tremendously. Thank you all for your efforts to make it so." Anthony
"[The best parts were the] setting, peace and quiet. Empty roads and no people!" Joseph
"We had a FANTASTIC holiday in Sweden, totally fell in love with it, and are sure to go back to the same region again. We will certainly send a few photos. We also told several friends already and are dreaming of renting all three cabins for a multi-family holiday some time. Many thanks, we'll keep in touch." Kate
"We all had a great time. Jayne was very helpful and got me the information I required! [I chose Nature Travels because] sustainability aspect and very clear website with lots of information." Abid, August 2014
"It was a great place to get away from everything and have lots of time for fishing and watching wildlife. Seeing beavers and moose in their natural habitat was one of the highlights" Bernd, August 2013.
"We just got back from Värmland and I wanted to express our huge gratitude for helping us organise such a fantastic trip. My only criticism would be that you undersold just how fantastic a place it is! We had a fantastic time - Björn has done the whole thing so tastefully and intelligently - it's like having a private lake to yourself, the mountain bikes are top of the line, the sauna is like none other any of us had experienced, and I could go on.We will be coming back again for sure, so I look forward to speaking to you next year. Thanks again for such a great job." Jeremy, May 2013
"Having a fantastic time. The cabin is very cosy and the autumn colours are stunning. Not seen a moose yet but still three days to go.A beautiful place to spend our honeymooon. Just off to have a sauna now, then meatballs for dinner! Thank you and best wishes." Richard and Kate (by postcard)
"We had a really fantastic holiday. Thank you for all your organising. Björn was great and everything went really well, we look forward to going again." Piers
"The cabin is close to a sheltered inlet of the main lake, and this made it absolutely perfect for the children to have greater freedom using the boat and canoe without always having us adults in with them. You were very responsive to all of our questions prior to booking and travelling to the cabin. Your service was therefore excellent, thank you. We had an absolutely fantastic time. Make sure to tell future families to hire the canoe all week (you will use it!), go for an evening canoe trip, and to take the motor boat and full picnic to one of the lake's islands. Also, the hike to the viewpoint on the Finnleden trail (starts in the village) gives a good introduction to the Swedish forests. Also, make sure to go on the gravel roads in the evening - lots of moose to be seen!" John and Kathy
"The log cabin was exceptional." Andrew
"We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday - canoed most days, had a couple of good bike-rides, fitted in an afternoon's fishing and generally explored the surrounding area, but found it all very relaxing. The log cabin was delightful - warm and cosy and in a great position. Björn was very welcoming, maintaining a helpful and friendly presence - without being intrusive! Good quality and well-maintained log cabins and hire equipment. We had a great holiday, would love to go back again and would certainly use Nature Travels to do so!" Laraine
"[The best part was] taking our children fishing. Also, the peaceful setting of the log cabin." Helen
"Our trip was little short of spectacular, and the service we received from you at Nature Travels first class in every way. I am still recovering from the shock of returning to 'civilization'. This was my first trip to Sweden - and as a lover of all-things outdoors - it was a real discovery, I can't wait to go back!" Alexy
"Thanks for all of your help, we had a fantastic trip and will certainly be back." Peter
