Our Ice Skating on Natural Ice and Discover Natural Ice Skating tours - multi-day trip skating adventures on frozen lakes and archipelago seas - are wonderful experiences far removed from skating on your local rink. The sense of freedom and space is extraordinary - you are literally walking on water!

Sweden is one of the very few places that can offer suitable conditions for natural ice skating - the winter climate needs to be cold enough for good ice formation but with little snowfall. The central and southern parts of Sweden are therefore wonderful areas for ice skating - as there is typically lower snowfall in these areas than further north, conditions can often be mirror-smooth and snow-free, offering mile upon mile of uninterrupted skating joy!

Led by experienced local guides, you will head out to discover some of the best skating the region has to offer. As ice conditions vary constantly, the exact locations of the skating for a particular tour are flexible to take advantage of the best conditions at the time, but each tour has fixed travel arrangements to start and end in Stockholm.

Tours are offered for participants of varying levels of experience, from those with no previous skating experience or who have done some basic skating before on ice rinks or roller blades looking to discover the adventure of natural ice skating, to advanced trip skaters able to cover longer distances. We have many guests returning to us to skate year after year and each tour is a unique adventure, so there's plenty of opportunity to develop your skills!
