Northern Lights Dogsled Adventure in Lapland features arrival and introductory sled tour Day 1, sledding Day 2 and Day 3, and departure Day 4. You will spend two nights in simple but comfortable accommodation at Wilderness Lodge approx. one hour from Kiruna, with sauna available on all nights. There is also an overnight expedition to wilderness cabin, also with sauna available. For tours early/late in the season, or at other times if ice conditions are not suitable to cross the river to reach the wilderness cabin, all nights of the tour may be spent at the Wilderness Lodge, which offers a number of different options for sledding trails. The tours run in a lowland landscape of frozen lakes and forest and are offered throughout the winter season from December to April.
Wilderness Lodge and Husky Sledding in Swedish Lapland is an extended version of the Northern Lights Dogsled Adventure in Lapland tour and also takes place throughout the winter in a beautiful landscape of frozen lakes and forest. Accommodation is at the Wilderness Lodge, normally with an overnight expedition to wilderness cabin by the river as for the Northern Lights Dogsled Adventure. As well as five wonderful days of dog sledding, there is one additional days for other activities - ice fishing/snowshoeing or visit to the Ice Hotel and Kiruna town.
Husky Expedition to the King's Trail in Lapland is a challenging expedition taking place in the "spring winter" period in April. From the remote fjälls surrounding the Wilderness Lodge, you sled towards the mountains and onto the King's Trail, Sweden's most famous long-distance trail. As a mountain tour, the route taken is always variable, but there are a number of possible routes to explore this magnificent region. Along the way, overnights are typically a combination of winter camping and mountain cabins.

Why choose Kiruna for a dogsled tour?
Kiruna has many advantages as a destination for dog sledding:
- Sled in beautiful lowland landscapes of frozen lakes and forests close to Kiruna, possible throughout the winter season, or choose mountain dog sledding tours on the King's Trail during the "spring winter" period.
- Travel to Kiruna is straightforward by domestic flight or night train from Stockholm.
- Located in the far north of Sweden, approx. 200km inside the Arctic Circle, a dogsled tour in the Kiruna area gives very good chances to see the Northern Lights throughout the winter season up until around early/mid-April. You will be far away from light pollution on the tours, which is important for the clearest and brightest views of a display.
- Kiruna is an ideal option if you are planning to extend your stay with extra activities before and/or after your dogsled tour. The world-famous Ice Hotel is located nearby in Jukkasjärvi, Abisko Mountain Station is just 1.5 hours by direct train to the north, and there are a number of day activities available in Kiruna town.
- While Kiruna town itself has limited tourist interest, it is a pleasant place to stay for a couple of nights and offers a range of accommodation. Kiruna's church was once voted Sweden's most beautiful.
