Arlanda is served from the UK by carriers including SAS, BA and Norwegian and internationally by many other airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travel from Arlanda airport into Stockholm city is very straightforward \u2013 see \u201cGetting from Arlanda airport to Stockholm city\u201d below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.naturetravels.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/arlanda-2.jpg\" alt=\"How to Travel from Stockholm Arlanda Airport into Stockholm City. Photo: Niki, Nature Travels.\" class=\"wp-image-1774\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.naturetravels.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/arlanda-2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.naturetravels.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/arlanda-2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption>Photo: Niki, Nature Travels.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But bear in mind that, if you are not visiting Stockholm city for other reasons, you may not need to travel into Stockholm at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, many of our guests travelling for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naturetravels.co.uk\/dog-sledding-sweden-northern-lights-dog-sledding-lapland-jv8dw1.htm\">Northern Lights dog sledding adventures<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naturetravels.co.uk\/ski-touring-sweden-back-country-skiing-winter-camping-abisko-wh8xw2.htm\">ski touring in Abisko<\/a> will be taking the night train north.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stockholm Arlanda is the main Stockholm airport, located approx. 40km north of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Night trains starting from Stockholm C (Stockholm Central station) will travel through Arlanda airport, stopping at Arlanda C (the station at the airport) en route. You can therefore board the night train directly at Arlanda with no need to travel into Stockholm first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.naturetravels.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/arlanda-1.jpg\" alt=\"How to Travel from Stockholm Arlanda Airport into Stockholm City. This will be included in the price of your ticket if you are purchasing a journey starting from or ending at Arlanda C and explains why the cost of a ticket for, for example, Arlanda C to Kiruna in the north is slightly higher than the ticket from Stockholm C to Kiruna, even though the distance is shorter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your journey is not specified to start or end at Arlanda C but you embark or disembark here, you will need to pay the station fee locally when entering or exiting the station (around 120 SEK, about \u00a311).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting from Arlanda airport to Stockholm city:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need to travel into the city, there are a number of options and connections run very regularly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Cheapest: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.naturetravels.co.uk\/add-ons-flygbussarna.htm\">Flygbussarna airport coaches<\/a>. Taking approx. 50 minutes, cost around 130 SEK (about \u00a311.50). Flygbussarna coaches leave from Terminal 5. <\/li><li><strong>Affordable and fast: <\/strong>Regular \u201cpendelt\u00e5g\u201d (commuter train, slower) or intercity (faster) train services. Taking 20-40 minutes depending on the train chosen, cost around 165-175 SEK (about \u00a315-16). Trains leave from Arlanda C station.<\/li><li><strong>Fastest: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arlandaexpress.com\/\">Arlanda Express trains<\/a> are dedicated airport trains leaving from their own station \u2013 Arlanda Norra. Taking 20 minutes, cost around 300 SEK (about \u00a326), though deals are often available for advance booking such as 2-for-1 travel.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>An overview of all these connections (including the Arlanda Express train and Flygbussarna airport coaches) can be seen at Swedish train website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sj.se\/\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sj.se\/en\/\">www.sj.se<\/a> Choose \u201cArlanda C\u201d as your start point and \u201cStockholm C\u201d as your destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose \u201cArlanda C\u201d as your start point and \u201cStockholm C\u201d as your destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taxis are of course another option to travel into Stockholm, though we recommend using public transport wherever possible.
