Winter at the Northern Comfort Lodge

A winter log cabin snow holiday with own outside hot-tub and sauna

Log cabin holidays in Sweden: Jämtland

Overview

Northern Comfort Lodge

The Northern Comfort Lodge is a large log cabin ideal for larger families or groups of friends, sleeping up to 8 persons in 4 x 2-person rooms. Spacious and comfortably-furnished, the log cabin has its own sauna and lakeside outdoor wood-fired hot-tub - a hot-tub in winter is a wonderful Swedish experience not to be missed! The cabin has an open and roomy living area, private sauna and wood-burning stove and is fully-equipped for self-catering.

Lynx

The Lynx is a charming log cabin at the same location as the Northern Comfort Lodge, sleeping up to 6 persons in 2 x 2-person rooms and 1 x 2-person sleeping loft, and is perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or for families. Standard of decor and furnishings is as for the larger cabin, and the Lynx cabin also has its own sauna and wood-heated hot-tub.

In winter, Jämtland lies thick with snow. The lakes freeze over and the landscape becomes a magical winter playground. If it is relaxation you are looking for, the lodge is an excellent base to simply enjoy the quiet and beauty of the snow-clad forest (perhaps while the children go off to build snowmen or make snow-angels!). If you would prefer more adventurous experience, there is a wide range of both guided and self-guided activities available, including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and ice fishing. Dog sledding tours in the surrounding area can also be arranged locally.

Despite being in a northerly location, these two winter log cabins are easily accessible by direct train from Stockholm. Transfer from from the local station is included, so it is not necessary to have a car unless you wish to explore further afield during your stay.
