Bushcraft Canoe Tour on Revsund

Bushcraft Canoe Tour on Revsund

A canoeing experience with wild camping and tuition in bushcraft skills

Canoeing holidays in Sweden: Gällö

Interest in bushcraft has grown significantly in recent years, as people seek a way to reconnect with nature and discover the pleasures and challenges of life in the wilderness and the release from dependence on modern technology. Sweden offers excellent opportunities to learn and practise bushcraft skills in beautiful natural settings, with the possibility to camp wild and a rich fauna and flora.

Bushcraft Canoe Tour on Revsund is a private guided experience arranged on dates to suit your group or family, and is ideal for those keen to learn and implement basic bushcraft skills. The tour takes place on the lake of Revsund, around the island of Ammeron in Jämtland. Accommodation is in Laplandic tents (teepees) or self-build shelters along the route.

Your guide is an experienced adventurer and an expert in bushcraft. On this six-day canoe tour you will have the opportunity to learn a great deal about plants and wildlife, practise fire and camp building, and go fishing for your supper! You will also learn to identify edible plants from the forest and bake break and bannock, a traditional Scottish griddle cake, in a "Dutch oven" (a type of cooking pot, usually of cast iron, with a heavy cover).

Along with the challenge and adventure of an outdoor expedition, you can also expect a few special comforts, with opportunities to take a wood-heated sauna and try a lakeside "bathing barrel" hot-tub to soothe your tired muscles!

This is an ideal bushcraft experience suitable for small groups and families with older children. Bushcraft canoe tours can be organised for groups of minimum 4 persons on dates by arrangement between May and September (smaller groups possible charged at minimum rate for 4 persons, minimum age 12 years). Bushcraft is a fun, challenging, and practical skill to learn - and Revsund provides the ideal environment to develop and practise your bushcraft skills in Sweden!
