Nature Travels News | Free Timber Rafting! | New Tours Added | Ideas for February Half Term
It's shaping up to be our busiest winter to date here at Nature Travels, with everything from dog sledding to traditional winter log cabin holidays proving very popular this year.
The last few months have been a very busy time for us, not only with bookings for the coming winter and summer seasons but also with the addition of an exciting array of new experiences to our portfolio.
Earlier this year we expanded our range of ecotourism holidays in Sweden with the addition of a number of new dog sledding tours, including challenging options for dog sledding in Lapland and dog sledding and winter camping. In recent months, we have added four more new experiences in both summer and winter:
From Dog Sledding and Winter Bushcraft to Siberian Husky Dogsled Adventure, our range of dog sledding experiences have been very popular this year. A number of scheduled dates are now fully booked, but there are still a few spaces remaining. Additional scheduled dates for some tours can be added on request from just 2 persons, so there's still time to plan your mushing adventure! Find out more»
We have now added new possibilities for canoe tours during the Summer Half Term week at the end of May. For the Half Term week it is now possible to book at standard per person prices (tours in early June normally have a minimum charge of the cost for 4 adults). Canoe on Svartälven, Canoe in Bergslagen and Canoe on Klarälven will have special tours starting Sunday 30th May. Find out more»

Nature Travels is pleased to announce that we are the sole UK agent for the Dalsland Canoe Marathon in West Sweden.
The 2010 marathon will take place on 14th August. The event is ideal for individuals, small groups of friends or for canoe and kayak club trips. Spectators are also very welcome! Nature Travels offers registration, equipment hire, accommodation and additional activities in the area.
Continental Airlines magazine recommended our Reindeer Sled Safari in Lapland in its October issue.
"There are few places in the world with as clear a view of the aurora borealis, and none where you'll enjoy better company — a team of domesticated reindeer."
Journalist Chris Madigan recommended our sea kayaking experiences in this beautiful area in September. The Koster Islands on Sweden's west coast were recently designated as Sweden's first Marine National Park. Our Sea Kayaking in the Koster Archipelago tour takes you on a wild camping expedition through this beautiful region led by an expert local guide.
Look out for another upcoming feature on this experience in the new National Geographic Green magazine.
Look out for the new Time Out publication "1000 Great Holiday Ideas", featuring our log cabin holidays at the Northern Comfort Lodge in Jämtland, and US hiking guide "50 Places To Hike and Trek Before You Die", showcasing our trekking tours in Sarek National Park.
To celebrate 30 years of timber rafting, we will be offering a number of free places on tours for the summer 2010 season
Over the next few months, we will be announcing a series of free spaces on our timber rafting tours. In each case, the first booking made after each announcement is published will receive one person on their booking free of charge (optional extras not included). If you choose the 8-day tour, this represents a saving of £268!
Announcements will be published on the Timber Rafting page on our website, so keep a look-out!

February is a wonderful time for winter experiences in Sweden - here are a few ideas for making the most of the snow!
After a very wet few weeks, Dorset is just starting to enjoy some crisp, clear winter weather. Make the most of the blue skies and keep garden bird-feeders well-stocked to help out wildlife remaining with us during the winter months!
We will be back in March, when it will be "spring-winter" in Sweden. Conditions in the mountains are ideal for dog sledding and ski touring during this time, while in the lowlands thoughts are turning to the coming adventures of spring...
Best regards
