Lapland Experience and Ice Hotel

A pharmaceutical company was looking for an incentive trip for its sales managers who had performed beyond expectations. This 3-day itinerary in Lapland in the far north of Sweden includes a visit to the world-renowned Ice Hotel, reindeer sled safari and dog sledding. Accommodation at the Ice Hotel is available as an optional extra.

Day 1
13.00 Arrive Kiruna airport. Short transfer to Hotel Ripan for check-in.
15.00 Guided snowshoe tour.
19.00 Dinner at Hotel Ripan.
Dinner menu:
- Arctic Char served with soured-cream mousse, whitefish caviar and beetroot sauce.
- Smoked reindeer fillet with shitake mushrooms from the mines of Kiruna, served with port and lingon vodka root vegetable purée.
- Blueberries with vanilla cream and juniper.
Day 2
07:00 Breakfast at Hotel Ripan.
08:00 Transfer by bus to Jukkasjärvi, home of the Ice Hotel.
08:30-15:00 Reindeer Sled Safari with lunch. Each participant will drive their own reindeer sled.
15:30-16:00 Guided tour of the Ice Hotel.
16:30 Transfer to Hotel Ripan.
18:00 Dinner at Hotel Ripan.
Dinner Menu:
- Shitake mushroom soup made with mushrooms grown in the mines of Kiruna, served with smoked Ptarmigan sausage and apple chips.
- Almond potatoes with breadcrumbs and roast pork.
- Arctic Char served with lobster sauce, sautéd shrimp with fried serpent root and Korpilombolo potatoes.
- Northern Swedish goat's cheese from Valsjöbyn with cloudberry jelly, lingonberry jam and lemon wafers.
Day 3
07:00 Breakfast at Hotel Ripan.
11:00 Transfer to Kiruna airport by dogsled for departure.
What is included:
- Transfer to/from Kiruna airport.
- Accommodation in shared en-suite cabins at Hotel Ripan.
- All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 3.
- All equipment necessary for the activities.
- Warm clothing and boots.
- Local guides. Your guides for your experience are local Sámi reindeer herders, the indigenous people of the area, whose families have been herding reindeer in the area for generations.
Optional extras:
Accommodation at the Ice Hotel in either warm or ice rooms can be arranged as an option for one or more nights during your stay.
