Timber Rafting on Klarälven
Example itinerary for corporate events:
Compare options for hotel accommodation before and/or after the timber rafting experience.
A medical company from the UK were seeking a new experience for their annual team-building event for upper and middle management. This itinerary offered the ideal combination of adventure and comfort on a custom 4-day timber rafting tour in Sweden.

Day 1
- Arrival at the raft building spot at Branäsäng around 13:00.
- An outdoor lunch will be served, after which you will have an instruction session on how to construct your timber rafts.
- Under the supervision and guidance of your instructors, you will then build your own timber rafts. Once building is complete, you will tie up the rafts for the night.
- You will then camp for the night at Branäs.
Day 2
- You will set sail on your rafts, with full equipment on board, to spend your first day on the winding river Klarälven.
- You will choose your own camping spot at the end of the day's rafting and camp wild on the banks of the river.
Day 3
- Your voyage down river continues. Your goal for the day is the campsite at Klarälvens Camping, where you will camp overnight.
Day 4
- You will reach the end point for your tour at Björkebo, where you can dismantle the rafts and bring your equipment ashore. Your instructors will be on hand to assist.
What is included:
- Timber rafting from Branäsäng to Björkebo (map included).
- Full cooking and kitchen equipment with grill.
- Tents (standard size or larger 8-person tents as desired).
- Sleeping bag with Thermarest sleeping mattress.
- Camping fee at Klarälvens Camping.
- Provisions box with typical Swedish food sourced from local suppliers and where possible from local ingredients, containing all food necessary during the tour.
- Private instruction session at Branäsäng.
- Services of local instructors during raft construction.
- Outdoor lunch served during raft construction.
- One canoe per raft.
- Services of local instructors during raft dismantling.
(Please note that items 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11 are not normally included as part of the standard Timber Rafting on Klarälven experience).
Optional package 1
As standard package above plus:
- Overnight following the timber rafting experience in shared two-person rooms at standard hotel.
- Dinner and breakfast at the hotel.
- All transfers, including transfer from Oslo Gardermoen airport to the start point for the timber rafting tour, transfer from end point of rafting tour to hotel and transfer from hotel to Oslo Gardermoen airport.
Optional package 2
As standard package above plus:
- Overnight following the timber rafting in shared two-person rooms in premium hotel.
- Dinner and breakfast at the hotel.
- Free access to spa facilities.
- All transfers, including transfer from Oslo Gardermoen airport to the start point for the timber rafting tour, transfer from end point of rafting tour to hotel and transfer from hotel to Oslo Gardermoen airport.
Optional package 3
As standard package above plus:
- On day 3, when the group will be camping at Klarälvens Camping, we will arrange an evening of bathing in a wooden "bath barrel" and wood-heated sauna, with a barbecue dinner of local elk meat with baked potatoes.
