Led by a local Sami guide, you will head out into the wilderness in command of your own reindeer sled, stopping along the way for lunch prepared over an open fire in the winter forest, sitting on reindeer skins on the crisp snow while your guide regales you with tales of his people's way of life and their close bond with the reindeer which are its centre.
Lapland is also home to the world-famous Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi, a unique accommodation experience. Constructed anew each year from ice blocks carved from the frozen river, the Ice Hotel guarantees you a one-of-a-kind visit. Each year the entire hotel melts in the spring thaw, only to be recreated (but always with some new touches!) the following winter.
If you are feeling particularly adventurous, you have the option to stay a night in one of the Ice Hotel's ice rooms - an unforgettable night's sleep! At the end of your visit to the winter landscape of Lapland, you will be transported back to the airport by dogsled.
