Even simple pleasures like watching the birds on the bird table. I think the top highlight has to be Åsa's superb cooking: we were spoilt rotten, as my waistline now confirms." "I just wanted to write and say what a lovely time we had with Åsa and Lasse - they were fantastic hosts, looking after us beautifully, making us feel welcome, comfortable and immediately at home. They seemed to have the balance right - they were around when you needed them, but not intrusive. Both of them were a mine of interesting information about the area, wildlife, Sweden, folklore, farming...you name it, one or the other of them were able to tell you. It was also lovely to see what they have done with the farm, returning it to a more traditional and natural way of doing things - it is fantastic work they are doing there. Åsa's traditional Swedish cooking was delicious and we loved all the 'home produce' on offer - honey, berries, juices, even home-made bread!
Our children had a great time - they allowed them to turn the sitting room into a dormitory with the Benton children, which of course delighted them. One of the Benton girls turned 13 while we were there and Åsa made her a wonderful home-made cake!!! All the activities were a great success for everyone, although we have come home with a few aches and bruises! Thank you for arranging the holiday and being so helpful - it was a huge success!"
