Press coverage of Hiking on the King's Trail from Abisko to Kebnekaisen:

"A snowy playground in winter, Swedish Lapland is an oasis in summer – particularly for active visitors." The Independent features Hiking on the King's Trail in "5 Ways to Spend Summer in Sweden".

"To Swedes the King's Trail in the far north of the country is a classic hike and one of its best-loved. We suggest an eight-day group trip with Nature Travels from Abisko to Kebnekaise." The Daily Telegraph

"One of Europe's last swaths of genuinely pristine wilderness lies more than 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle. The eight-day trip led by Nature Travels is rife with extra-special experiences—sauna stops, a boat ride across Lake Ladtjojaure, and the option to add an excursion up 6,906-foot Mt. Kebnekaise, Sweden's highest peak." Fox News recommends Hiking on the King's Trail as one of the world's "most beautiful paths".

Recommended by The Guardian online as one of the world's "Ten Best Trips for Solo Travellers".

"The Kungsleden (or 'King's Trail') is Scandinavia's best-known trail - a sublime landscape of birch forests, mountain peaks, glaciers, deep valleys and turbulent rivers." Fifty Places to Hike Before You Die recommends our Hiking on the King's Trail tour.

"The air was lung-piercingly crisp. A gurgle of meltwater and a vague, whispering wind were the only sounds. The closest road was two days' walk away. I could not remember the last time I'd been so far away from civilisation. Yet the scenery was too uplifting for me to feel lonely." Rhiannon Batten in The Independent.

"Great weather, excellent standard of accommodation, great sauna experience, fantastic guide." Karen, August 2013

"[I really enjoyed] the stunning scenery of Lapland and the sense of achievement in climbing Mt Kebnekaise. I had a really nice time and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery along the trail. We were extremely lucky with the weather for the majority of the walk up until a big thunderstorm about 4 days in. The local guides were very helpful and knowledgeable and I appreciated that they spoke English for my benefit (and 3 other non-Swedish speakers in group)." Owain, July 2013

"First off, I cannot thank Nature Travels enough for their assistance and guidance through the process of booking and pre-departure. Truly brilliant service. The website has heaps of info, (great for Aussies booking from far away), so I didn’t actually speak to you guys that much, but the booking process was simple and easy to follow. Speedy responses to my email queries, and plenty of detailed information on the PDF sheets sent to me, and always happy to offer advice, even with stuff not directly relating to you (like why SJ refuses my credit cards). Would not hesitate to recommend you guys to others.

"Our guide, Mattias, was great. He was knowledgeable, friendly and always patient with my occasional questions. The food was great too (both made by the group, as well as dishes served up by the kitchens at the beginning and the end of the hike). I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodation – all the huts and the tourist station were clean, really well-maintained and beautiful. I found the physical level of hiking perfect for me – I could get through the days quite well, but did feel tired at the end of each day! There had been a LOT of rainfall over Kungsleden right before I was there, so a few of the river crossings over the trail were quite challenging for me, particularly as my hiking experience has been in the outback, or in temperate forests of Australia.

"The highlight of my trip was seeing reindeer around the Sälka hut – as well as the Tjäkta Pass. My crummy photos to not do the area justice – it was simply stunning. And I got to see snow! Actual real snow – not the man-made kind that is usually on the mountains here in Australia. Thanks again for your help. I might be in touch in 2014 for Northern Lights!" Emily, July 2012

"The hike itself was amazing - a little challenging for me but very good. The scenery was just outstanding." Elaine, August 2012

"I was able to easily clarify my vegetarian diet for the trip and was able to receive additional support while booking trains. Very pleased! The guide, Eva, was extraordinary! She really put her heart into the trip and made it so enjoyable. I was delighted by the accommodation and how well we were fed!!!" Jennifer, June 2012

"Landscape exceeded expectations, the guide was wonderfully knowledgeable. Standout feature of the trip was expertise of the guide, very impressive knowledge of the outdoors and the particular area. Thank you, we enjoyed ourselves very much, a quite spectacular country." Ciaran, August 2011

"[The highlight was] the summit of Kebnekaise in amazing weather." Anne, July 2011

"We have now returned and had a great time - just loved it. Thanks once again." Lesla and Bob, July 2011

"[The best part was] arriving at the mountain cabins in Sälka in the sunshine after 25km hiking." Sarah, July 2010
