Without Flying:

Harwich-Bengtsfors by ferry and train: Ferry from Harwich to Esjberg in Denmark (book ferries online) then onward connections to Bengtsfors via Copenhagen.

Driving time from Esbjerg to Bengtsfors is around 8.5 hours.

Within Sweden:

To reach the Dalsland Canoe Marathon, travel to the small town of Bengtsfors, the finishing point for the competition. Hotel and hostel accommodation is located here. Camping and Apartment accommodation is located at the Canoe Camp, about 25km from Bengtsfors (see below).

From Gothenburg City or Gothenburg Landvetter airports: Flight bus to central Gothenburg (book airport buses online through us), travel time about 20 mins. Train/bus from Göteborg C (Gothenburg Central station) to Bengtsfors. Travel time from Gothenburg 2-3 hours, usually with one change.

Getting to the start point:

The Dalsland Canoe Marathon begins from Baldersnäs. On the morning of the event, buses will run from Bengtsfors to the start. If driving, the best option is to park in Bengtsfors. Alternatively, you can park at Baldersnäs on race day. There will be buses running from the end point in Bengtsfors back to Baldersnäs to collect your vehicle.

Travelling between Bengtsfors and the Canoe Camp:

The canoe camp is approx. 25km from Bengtsfors, served by local bus connections which stop 400m from the camp. Travel time 15 mins. Further information on local transport will be provided after booking.
