Single in the Winter Mountains

The Grövel Lake and the Grövel Lake Mountains are situated in the northern part of Dalarna.
The area is characterized by low mountains and old-growth pine forest and here and there streams and wells break through. The Grövel Lake Mountains are a collective term for the area surrounding the lake which stretches over the border between Sweden and Norway. The highest mountain on the Swedish side is Storvätteshågna at 1,204 m. On the Norwegian side there are a few peaks that reach above 1,200 m. Reachable on a day walk lie Store Svuku and Gröthågna, which are both around 1,400 m.

Price: from £451 per person for members of Hostelling International, YHA or STF (Swedish Tourist Association). Membership of STF can be arranged through us for approx. £23/adult.
Accommodation: 7 nights' full board accommodation in two to four person rooms in mountain station.

Experience the beauty and peace of the Swedish mountains in the company of like-minded travellers. You can do ski tours with mountain guides on the mountain or take some "me" time to go skiing by yourself along the tracks close to the mountain station. One day you get to try telemark skiing, which will enable you to later enjoy the downhill slopes on the mountain much more. You can also brush up your cross-country skiing technique with one of the mountain station's experienced teachers. After fresh air and exercise in the snow, why not unwind with a session of yoga or Qi gong?
