During this 5-day/4-night bushcraft course in the beautiful wilderness of Northern Dalarna, you will learn bushcraft skills from an experienced local guide and have the opportunity to use these skills on a wilderness mini-expedition.

The emphasis is on taking your time, having a chance to practise the skills you are taught and enjoying the beauty and tranquility of your surroundings. By the end of your course you should feel more confident in your own knowledge and abilities as well as have a greater affinity for the natural world.
Wilderness Bushcraft in Northern Dalarna is a marvellous opportunity to learn new and very practical skills in a glorious natural environment and is ideal for all adults with a love of the outdoors.
This bushcraft tour is intended for those will little or no previous experience of bushcraft or who would like to gain confidence in a wilderness environment.
Meet in Idre at 15.15 for transfer to the bushcraft base camp. Clients travelling by public transport will require transfer (see "Optional extras" below).
The first part of the bushcraft course will be based at an expedition-style base camp, where you will receive instruction in basic bushcraft techniques before heading out for a mini-expedition where you will practise and extend the skills and techniques you have learned.
The course focuses primarily on being on the move rather than camp-based activities, concentrating especially on orientation, navigation, safety and survival.
Food during the tour is provided - you will not be "living off the land" during the experience.
You will be back in Idre at 11.45.

4 nights' wild camping at bushcraft base camp and during mini-expedition. Participants should bring their own lightweight, waterproof tents and/or hammock and shelter. Shelter building techniques are featured as part of the course, but you will not be sleeping in self-build shelters.
Hammock and shelter are also available to borrow free of charge if required - please let us know in advance.
Please be careful with borrowed equipment! If some part of the equipment should break as a result of misuse or carelessness, you may be charged for the damage caused.
All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 5.
Instruction from local bushcraft guide(s) during the tour.
NB: Cutting tools such as knives are an important part of bushcraft equipment, but can also be a hazard. If you wish to bring your own tools such as knife, folding saw, etc, this is permitted but not essential as all tools are provided. Personal tools may be used only if approved by the guides. Axes must never be brought/used during the bushcraft course.
General good health and level of fitness, used to the outdoors and able to hike with pack over uneven terrain. The tour is suitable for a wide range of participants but some activities can be demanding. Minimum age 16 if accompanied by adult, otherwise 18. No previous bushcraft experience is required.
A detailed recommended equipment list will be sent with your booking confirmation.
NB: We advise you not to buy equipment or clothes for your trip or to incur other non-refundable expenses such as flights until you have received confirmation of your booking from us in writing.

Fly to Stockholm airports for travel by day train to Mora and bus to Idre. Travel time from central Stockholm approx. 6.5 hours. Alternatively, fly to Oslo airports for travel by hire car (travel time 4.5-5.5 hours).
From Idre, transfer time to the start point by local taxi is around 30 mins.
Ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg (Denmark) for onward connections to Idre.
