This 3-day/2-night bushcraft course is the ideal introduction to bushcraft skills in the heart of the Swedish forest!
Under the instruction of a local bushcraft guide, you will learn how to handle yourself in a forest environment and learn about the resources available all around you. The course will look at areas and techniques including:
You will learn a number of genuinely useful and practical bushcraft skills during the course, helping you to be much better prepared to safely and comfortably experience a wilderness forest environment on your own, while at the same time the course has an emphasis on enjoying the beauty and magic of your forest surroundings and fostering an appreciation of the natural world. By the end of your bushcraft course you will be much better prepared to be out in the forest safely and enjoyably!
The world of "time-saving gagdets" and ready-made products will seem a million miles away during your time in the forest. You will cook dinner over open fire, making use of the forest's natural resources for your food and shelter.
Accommodation is in traditional grass-covered forest huts - simple but cosy and comfortable. On your second night you also have the option to sleep out beneath the stars in a shelter you will have learned to build with your own hands during the day!
Introduction to Forest Bushcraft and Survival Skills is the ideal experience for adults who love and enjoy the outdoors and would like to improve their knowledge and confidence in a relaxed, peaceful and beautiful forest setting.
You will have access to your forest hut from 14.00. If arriving by public transport, transfer from Skinnskatteberg is included.
There are no formal activities on this day. The forest camp is in a lovely setting and there is plenty to explore - go hiking in the deep woods, take a dip in the lake or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere of the camp.
You should bring some provisions for this night to prepare dinner. There is an ICA store 100m from the station in Skinnskatteberg. If arriving by public transport, please let us know if you wish to allow time to shop for provisions before pick-up. Cooking at the camp is done over open fire - cooking and eating utensils are provided.
After breakfast you will begin a full day of bushcraft skills instruction led by local wilderness guide, looking at skills including lighting fires, finding and purifying water, finding edible foods, identifying animal tracks and signs and building an overnight shelter.
For overnight accommodation, you have the option to sleep out in the shelter you have constructed or return to your forest hut for the night.
A relaxed morning to enjoy the atmosphere of the forest and perhaps practise some of the skills you have learned. Please check out of your forest hut by 12.00. Departure after lunch. You will be transferred to Skinnskatteberg for onward travel if required.
Alternatively, add an extra night or more in the forest hut go hiking in the forest, take a dip in the lake or simply enjoy the very special atmosphere of the camp.
Introduction to Forest Bushcraft and Survival Skills is also bookable as a private tour at standard prices for groups of min. 4 persons on other dates by arrangement between 1st May and 30th October.

Two nights in grass-roofed forest hut. Forest huts offer simple but comfortable standard of accommodation. Each hut sleeps 2 adults on sleeping benches covered with sheepskin rugs and has its own fireplace. Solo travellers or odd-numbered persons in a group will have their own hut.
Lunch Day 2 and Day 3, dinner Day 2, self-service breakfast Day 2 and Day 3. Please bring your own provisions for self-catering dinner Day 1. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.

Alcoholic drinks.
You should be in general good health, enjoy the outdoors and be able to walk on uneven terrain in the forest. No previous bushcraft experience is required. Minimum age 18 years (16 if accompanied by adult).
A detailed recommended equipment list will be sent with your booking confirmation.
NB: We advise you not to buy equipment or clothes for your trip or to incur other non-refundable expenses such as flights until you have received confirmation of your booking from us in writing.
Total minimum number of 4 adults required for scheduled tours to run. Maximum group size 10 persons.
Groups of 4 persons can book private tours at standard prices on custom dates by arrangement.
