Introduction to Forest Bushcraft and Survival Skills

A bushcraft course for adults covering essential forest bushcraft skills

Bushcraft courses in Sweden: Västmanland

Overview

This 3-day/2-night bushcraft course is the ideal introduction to bushcraft skills in the heart of the Swedish forest!

Under the instruction of a local bushcraft guide, you will learn how to handle yourself in a forest environment and learn about the resources available all around you. The course will look at areas and techniques including:

  • How to make a fire successfully and safely.
  • Finding and purifying water.
  • Finding and identifying edible foods in the forest (please note that our bushcraft experiences do not include hunting/trapping).
  • Building a shelter from natural materials - which you then have the option to sleep in for a night if you wish!

You will learn a number of genuinely useful and practical bushcraft skills during the course, helping you to be much better prepared to safely and comfortably experience a wilderness forest environment on your own, while at the same time the course has an emphasis on enjoying the beauty and magic of your forest surroundings and fostering an appreciation of the natural world. By the end of your bushcraft course you will be much better prepared to be out in the forest safely and enjoyably!

The world of "time-saving gagdets" and ready-made products will seem a million miles away during your time in the forest. You will cook dinner over open fire, making use of the forest's natural resources for your food and shelter.

Accommodation is in traditional grass-covered forest huts - simple but cosy and comfortable. On your second night you also have the option to sleep out beneath the stars in a shelter you will have learned to build with your own hands during the day!

Introduction to Forest Bushcraft and Survival Skills is the ideal experience for adults who love and enjoy the outdoors and would like to improve their knowledge and confidence in a relaxed, peaceful and beautiful forest setting.
