Depending on which of our family-friendly winter breaks you choose, your holiday might be a quieter, more traditional affair, a chance for adults to rediscover the lost (or perhaps just half-imagined!) winters of their childhood, and a chance for children to find out what their parents have been reminiscing about so wistfully all these years! Sweden is a lovely destination for a family winter holiday, offering good chances of excellent snow conditions and with the possibilities for a real "get-away-from-it-all" winter family experience. Our most popular winter holiday in Sweden for families is Winter Wonderland on a Forest Farm. Lasse and Åsa's idyllic farm deep in the forests of Hälsningland typifies what many parents visualise as a the perfect winter break with their children.

The farm is an ideal environment for a winter family holiday, providing opportunity for endless hours of "play in the snow" activities. There are kick-sledges for the flatter sections, tobaggans for snowy downhill races, cross country skis for exploring miles of forest tracks, or why not get an ice drill and take the children ice fishing on one of the nearby frozen lakes? For a perfect winter wonderland experience, Lasse and Åsa will even take you on a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-clad woods! For a traditional, quiet winter family holiday in Sweden, Winter Wonderland on a Forest Farm is hard to beat. The best snow is usually from mid-December to mid-March, and the farm is an excellent choice for families wishing to spend a Christmas family holiday in Sweden or to stay across New Year. Sweden at Christmas is a magical time, and Åsa's home-made farmhouse Christmas cooking has been a hit with all our guests, both young and old!
