Nature Travels is the ONLY company in the UK specialising solely in environmentally responsible outdoor and wildlife holidays in Sweden. We know Sweden, we love Sweden, and we will work very hard to ensure your experience is an unforgettable one. All our staff either come from Sweden or have lived, worked and travelled extensively there. We speak Swedish fluently, understand the country and the culture and have a very personal relationship with our local providers.
All our staff are passionate about the outdoors and about wildlife - we have been enthusiastic campers, walkers, wildlife watchers and conservationists all our lives. What's more, we have personally participated in many of the types of experience we sell, and we know how uplifting and exhilarating they can be.
We believe strongly in the need to protect and enhance the places we travel to, and in the potential for responsible tourism to be a positive force in environmental and cultural conservation. Read about our ecotourism policy and how Nature Travels supports conservation in Sweden.
ALL our providers in Sweden are locally-owned, small scale enterprises. The guides and staff you will meet know their local area intimately and care deeply about its protection. Many of the companies we use in Sweden have been awarded the Swedish quality seal for ecotourism. To do this they must conform to a rigid set of criteria, including: displaying detailed knowledge of the environment and wildlife of their area, having a waste management plan and demonstrating high standards of safety and customer service.

Sweden is an amazing year-round destination for wildlife and outdoor travel. Many of the experiences available through Nature Travels would be difficult to find anywhere else, especially so close to home. Where else you could go ice skating on the frozen sea waters of an archipelago? Where else could you float majestically down river on your own log raft?
Misconceptions about prices and climate in Sweden are perhaps one reason why it remains a largely undiscovered destination for the wildlife and nature traveller. It contains vast areas of outstanding natural beauty, a largely intact flora and fauna and what is often called the last wilderness in Europe. What's more, its people are renowned for their interest in nature as well as their excellent English. Find out more about Sweden on our About Sweden page.
Many outdoor operators specialise in group tours with fixed departure dates. At Nature Travels we have a different approach.
It's true that some of our experiences in Sweden take place only on particular dates, and that you may be sharing your adventures with travellers from all over the world. However, outside of your experience you are completely free to create your own itinerary. Sweden is a vast and diverse country - if you only have time for a short visit then we can advise on swift and convenient transport to your destination. But if you have a little more time to spare, why not extend your trip either side of your experience? We know a great deal about the country and will be more than happy to advise you on everything from what to see to where to stay and how to get there. Please feel free to ask when you book your experience with us.

Outdoor and nature travel carries an element of risk, but we believe that your experience should be exciting but never dangerous. All our providers in Sweden have excellent safety standards and accident management systems. We and our providers are fully insured and are committed to keeping you safe while you are enjoying yourself.
Sweden is one of the safest and most stable countries in the world. We live on a planet that is changing both politically and climatically, but in both these areas Sweden remains, thankfully, relatively undisturbed by the turmoil of recent global events.
