Skåne, located in the far south of Sweden and easily accessible from Copenhagen, is perhaps best-known for its connections with Nordic Noir. The Wallander stories are based in the pretty coastal town of Ystad, while Saga Norén and her Danish colleague Martin Rohde tackled cross-border crime in "The Bridge", set around the Öresund bridge linking Copenhagen and Malmö.
Perhaps less commonly known is that these areas are also perfect destinations for nature and outdoor holidays for the whole family. Spring arrives earlier and autumn stays longer than further north in Sweden, which means outdoor activities such as kayaking, canoeing and hiking can be enjoyed from May to September or even into October. We also offer wonderful options for accommodation, from a traditional farm cottage to an adventure under canvas in a yurt or tipi!
